Army ROTC is an elective curriculum you take along with your required college classes. It gives you the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay your college tuition. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be commissioned as an Officer in the Army. At that point, you will have a wide range of ARMY careers you can specialize in called branches. Our Cadets participate in a variety of organizations and extracurricular activities outside of ROTC to include varsity athletics, community service organizations, intramurals, and student government organizations. Being a Cadet in ROTC will give you an advantage among your peers in your selected degree because you continuously improve leadership and communication skills that will be valuable in your future career.

Most students are seeking some financial assistance as they pursue their technology degree at Pittsburg State University. In recent years, the Crossland College of Technology has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships from alumni, foundations, and professional associations earned by its students.

Throughout the academic year and in recent years, the Crossland College of Technology has hosted a wide-variety of special events for its students and other constituencies. Some special events have included international events such as: SAE Baja Kansas, an international collegiate design competition, PSU has hosted four times (2011, 2014, 2017,2018); the Global Manufacturing Summit (2017); or the ongoing Four State Regional Technology Conference, Annual CTE Workshops, Annual HRD Conference, and others. These, as well as semi-annual College of Hot Dog Feed for it students. Additionally, departments and programs host specific event for their students, including company focus sessions, program career events, social events for majors, and awards ceremonies. Two special, college-wide events are highlighted below---Company Day and the School of Construction Expo.
