Gorilla Gateway

A required first-year, two-credit hour, course within the Pitt State Pathway that focuses on numerous learning elements. This course promotes skills each student already possesses along with new skills and helps the student learn how and where to obtain services to help with these abilities.

International Transitions

A one-credit hour course to assist students to smoothly transition into university life. Emphasized for those from higher education, a work environment, or from a foreign country. This course focuses on being a successful member in the university community through academic, personal and social development.

 

Gorilla Warm-Up

The weekend before your first semester at Pitt State, attend Gorilla Warm-Up. Meet your classmates, your Gorilla Gateway instructor, and a peer mentor who will guide you through the upcoming semester.

Honor Societies for Your First Year at Pitt State

Honors College

Join our community of high-achieving students. Students are first considered with a superscore of 28 or higher on ACT and a 3.5 unweighted GPA. 30 scholarships are awarded at $1,000 - $9,500.

Phi Eta Sigma

National Freshman Honor Society for students who have above a 3.5 GPA after their first semester or first year are invited to become members. Phi Eta Sigma awards over $300,000 in scholarships annually and the Pitt State chapter.

Tau Sigma

Academic honor society for transfer students with a minimum 3.5 GPA or in the top 20% of all incoming transfer students.
