AP Transfer Equivalents
PSU accepts Advanced Placement credit for scores of 3, 4 and 5. AP credit is considered transfer credit and requires an official copy of student scores mailed directly to PSU from College Board. All AP credits are recorded as "Pass" credit. Scores of 3 required unless higher score specified.

*Score of H4: Student is exempted from ENGL 101 and place into Writing-to-Learn (WL) & ENGL 299 course sequence. The student must complete the initial WL class with a grade of C or higher to earn transcript credit for ENGL 101. Enrollment sequence: WL & ENGL 101-40; WL; ENGL 299.
Score of H5: Student is exempted from ENGL 101 and placed into WL & ENGL 299 course sequence. The student must complete the initial WL class with a grade of C or higher to earn transcript credit for ENGL 101. Enrollment sequence: WL & ENGL 101-40; WL; ENGL 299.
Score of H6: Student is exempted from ENGL 101 and placed into WL & ENGL 190 course sequence. The student must complete the initial WL course with a grade of C or higher to earn transcript credit for ENGL 101. Enrollment sequence: WL & ENGL 101-40; ENGL 190; WL. Student does not take ENGL 299.
Score of H7: Option 1: Same as score of H6. Option 2: Student may prove ability to write a research-based essay. Successful completion of Option 2 exempts student from ENGL 101 & 299 and earns 3 hours of transcript credit for each (grade of A). Enrollment sequence: WL; WL. Student does not take ENGL 101, 190, or 299.
