Pittsburg State University's RN to BSN program is tailored to fit the needs of today's registered nurses. RNs can earn their bachelor's degree in as little as 12 months taking courses full-time. All nursing courses are completely online.

We understand how difficult it can be to find time for classes when you work full-time as an RN. That’s why we also offer a part-time study option. This option is a perfect choice for RNs who want to work full-time and earn their degree over the course of several years.

*The Plan of Study for the RN to BSN student is individualized and will be developed by the student's School of Nursing advisor.

RN-BSN graduates are qualified for many advanced nursing roles, including:

Earning your BSN is also a stepping-stone to more advance practice nursing degrees, including nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, clinical nurse leader, or certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA).

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for Registered Nursing professionals is $73,300. Employment is expected to grow by 16 percent between now and 2024, much faster than the average of all occupations.

Students will have many opportunities for research, including the university’s annual Research Colloquium and Undergraduate Day at the Capitol. These and many more opportunities are available to students within the RN to BSN program.

Applications to the nursing program are available online, and you must apply for admission to both Pittsburg State University and the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.

Applications for spring will be available September 15 and are due on November 15. Late applications will be considered on space available.

Application Process

  1. Apply for admission to Pittsburg State University
  2. Send transcripts, either electronically or by mail, to the Office of the Registrar (1701 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS. 66762). Be certain to include your posted Associate Nursing Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  3. Complete RN-BSN program application.
