Card Features and Uses

The PSU ID number is a 9-digit number that is unique to each student, faculty, or staff member. The Gorilla Card is issued with your PSU ID number printed on the front. You will need this number to access many of the systems and services at PSU, including GUS. You must use your 9-digit ID Number to login to your Gorilla Card Online account. You may not be required to enter the leading zeros in other online systems like GUS and many other systems on campus.
Most cards will list a status of Student, Faculty or Staff.
The 16-digit number printed on the front of your card is also encoded on the magnetic stripe on the back of your card. It is an identification number used when scanning your card for services and activities on campus.
The magnetic stripe is encoded with three “tracks” of information. Track 2 is encoded with your 16-digit ISO card number and is used when your card is "swiped" in a reader, eliminating slow keyboard input of your 16-digit number. Track 3 is encoded for use in future applications.
Your Gorilla Card currently has many functions, and may have more in the future. Current uses include:
Lost or Stolen Cards
You need to determine if you have misplaced your card, by leaving it at home over the weekend, think you know where it might be, etc. If your card has been misplaced, you need to come to the Gorilla Geeks Office in room 109 Whitesitt Hall or visit the Gorilla Card Online website to report your Gorilla Card as being lost. Reporting your Gorilla Card as lost will block any PSU transactions from occurring, including any Banana Bucks transactions at all locations on campus as well as the ability to access Gibson Dining Hall and obtain tickets to University events.
When your card is found, you must bring it to the Gorilla Card Office or visit the Gorilla Card Online website to report your card as being found. If your card is not found, you will have to purchase a replacement card for $20.00.
If your Gorilla Card is permanently lost or stolen, report it immediately to the Gorilla Card Office, the Gorilla Card Online website, or University Police to deactivate the card and prevent unauthorized use
To replace your card, visit the Gorilla Card Office and pay a $20 replacement fee. If the card was stolen, bring a police report for a free replacement. Access to your Banana Bucks, meal plan, event tickets, and other services will be suspended until you obtain a new card.
This will flag your card in the system as Lost. If anyone finds your card and tries to use it they will not be able to.
