Finance Club

The Finance Club at Pittsburg State University was formed by the finance faculty and finance majors in order to promote activities that foster the intellectual and career development of finance students. The Finance Club has faculty advisors, but is run by the students who elect their own officers.

The primary purpose of the Finance Club is to foster faculty-student interaction, raise career awareness and professionalism through guest speakers and field trips to visit the firms and financial markets in such cities as Kansas City, Chicago, New York and others. These activities provide students with invaluable real-world insights into the career opportunities, firms, and financial markets that make up the field of finance. In addition, they instill in students a sense of excitement about the world of finance.

Why Join the Finance Club?
  • Learn about careers in finance from professionals in the fields of financial planning, banking, and other areas.
  • Get out of the classroom and visit the world of finance.
    • In recent years we've gone to Kansas City for a Financial Planning Association Career Day, Wichita for a visit with Koch Industries, Denver to visit the Denver Mint and Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Chicago to visit the Chicago Board of Trade, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Chicago Options Exchange, and many other places. This year? It's up to YOU!
  • Improve your resume by getting involved and showing leadership potential.
  • Have Fun!
