Gorilla Gatherings

What can you expect?

We often host Gorilla Gatherings as a dinner at a local restaurant or venue – sometimes we even bring famous SEK fried chicken along! In addition to providing a meal, we:

• Provide a PSU update with a special guest from PSU. The special guest could be President Dan Shipp, college deans, your favorite professors, or athletic coaches.
• Provide information about the many opportunities available for PSU alumni.
• Give away tons of PSU swag to help you promote the Gorillas everywhere you go.

Luncheons are another common type of Gorilla Gathering. These are set up very similar to the dinners but in a shorter timeframe. They typically last about one hour. It’s simple – we eat, network, update, and win prizes!

Family events are often hosted to not only engage our alumni, but also engage their families and Future Gorillas. In addition to family day during football and basketball seasons, we offer a variety of family events throughout the year.

Finally, our After Hours Gorilla Gatherings have continued to grow in popularity. We enjoy appetizers, drinks, networking, and prizes at these informal events. It is all about good conversation and good company of fellow Gorillas. Our most popular after hours event is held at Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, MO in the spring.

With that being said, our main goal is to bring alumni and friends together to enjoy delicious food, a fun activity, or just good conversation over drinks.
