Overview


The Department of Technology and Workforce Learning offers a Master of Science Degree with a Major in Career and Technical Education. Within the Family and Consumer Sciences emphasis, the program will equip with and enhance skills in leadership, research, FCS professional knowledge and pedagogy. Pedagogical courses may be tailored to your professional needs such as curriculum and training development, utilizing assessment tools, incorporating technology in programs, working with special populations, or understanding current trends and issues.

The program is intended to support individuals in a variety of professional environments, including, but not limited to:

  • FCS Teacher Educators
  • Individuals supporting FCS programs
  • Extension agents
  • Community Program Partners
  • Instructors within the district and community

This graduate program is 100% online and consists of 30 credit hours.

Options available for the degree:

Option I: Thesis
This option is designed to prepare students for a doctoral program, for advanced professional careers, or for students wanting to complete an in-depth research experience.

Option II: Coursework

This option requires completion of coursework that demonstrates evidence of advanced coursework in an area of concentration. Departments will require evidence of competency through activities such as research papers, portfolios, practice, internships, comprehensive exams, or other individual work. Students should check with their major department for specific requirements for the coursework.

About Technology and Workforce Learning Department
