Annual surplus sale set for this weekend

Pittsburg State University will hold its annual surplus sale beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 22.

“As technology improves and students needs change, we often find ourselves replacing or removing items from classrooms and offices,” said Tonya Pentola, Storeroom and Recycling Services supervisor. “The annual sale allows us to give these items a second-life with community members who can use them. It also reduces waste by keeping these items out of the landfill.”

Items on this year’s docket include several desks, light fixtures, filing cabinets, office supplies and much more.

“Everything is reasonably priced,” Pentola said. “We’re helping the community, reducing environmental waste and at no expense to the university. It’s a win for everyone.”

The surplus sale will take place at Pittsburg State’s Physical Plant located at 303 E. Lindburg Street. Doors will open at 8 a.m. The sale is expected to conclude at 3 p.m. For more information, call Pentola at 620-235-4780.
