Pittsburg State marketers earn national recognition

The university was awarded a gold award in the fan engagement category for itsGorilla Fan Spotlight feature. It earned a silver award for its football intro video.

“Video has become an important part of the game day experience at Pittsburg State,” said Marissa Poppe, assistant athletic director for strategic partnerships and community outreach. “We can’t say enough about our colleagues in the Office of University Marketing and Communication who help us create pieces that are engaging and fun. We’ve often thought we have the best production team in the MIAA. Now, we have the awards to prove it.”

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Best Of Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 14 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. Nearly 1,000 entries were received for the 2016-17 year.
