Pittsburg State reaches out to faculty

The life of a faculty member can be a stressful one. Full class loads, in-depth research, service obligations, and the push for publication can lead to full days and long nights. Pittsburg State understands this, and is reaching out to faculty to discover what more it can do to help them be successful in their careers.

The university has partnered with Hanover Research to develop a short survey for faculty to gauge job satisfaction. The survey, which was developed by an 11-member faculty work group, was emailed to faculty Monday and will remain open through Nov. 7. Those taking part in the survey will remain anonymous.

“We are hopeful that all faculty will take the time to complete this survey,” said Provost Lynette Olson. “It will provide helpful input and suggestions for how we might support them in the very important role they play at Pittsburg State.”

The faculty work group will review survey results and provide a final recommendation for improvements to the provost. The survey is directly related to Pittsburg State’s new strategic plan.
