Sara Panzau doesn’t speak from behind a podium because she wants students to see the scars and the missing arm that are the result of a single decision to drive after a night of drinking.
Panzau will present a program, “Living Proof,” for PSU students and the general public at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. The free program is sponsored by PSU Student Prevention and Wellness and by Eagle Beverage.
A former all-American volleyball player, Panzau, survived a devastating car accident following irresponsible use of alcohol in 2003. The crash was the culmination of Sarah’s young life spiraling out of control.
As a result of her accident, Sarah now lives in constant pain, and has endured more than 30 surgeries. She has lost the ability to play volleyball, the sport she loved so much.
Now, with the gift of a second chance at life, Panzau has dedicated herself to educating young people about the hazards of underage drinking, and the risks of making bad decisions.
