The Best of Broadway portion of the 2016-17 Bicknell Performance Series opens on Thursday, Sept. 29, with the smash-hit, boy-meets-girl musical, “Once.”
Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, “Once” features an ensemble of actor-musicians who play their own instruments on stage.
“Once” tells the tale of a Dublin street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs. As the chemistry between them grows, his music soars to new heights.
Bicknell Center Director Joe Firman said the Bicknell Center’s Linda & Lee Scott Performance Hall is the perfect location for a production like “Once.”
“It’s an award-winning production in a world-class venue,” Firman said. “This will be an unforgettable experience for all who attend.”
Tickets for “Once” are available online through the Bicknell Center website, www.bicknellcenter.com, or at the PSU Ticket Office, 1701 S. Homer, 620-235-4796, www.pittstate.edu/tickets.
