Last year, Pittsburg State University, in partnership with SEK-CAP, launched the Gorilla Shuttle to help students, faculty and staff make their way across campus. It proved to be quite popular.
“We averaged more than 100 riders per day,” said Steve Erwin, vice president for student life. “We were very impressed by the response, and it was clear to us that this is a service that our campus folks enjoy and rely on.”
To help meet the growing popularity and demand for on-campus transportation, Pitt State is adding a second shuttle and three additional stops during the 2016-2017 academic year. The additional stops will be at the Overman Student Center, Lindburg Plaza and Nation Hall.
“It was evident pretty early on that a second shuttle would be necessary at some point,” Erwin said. “We’re excited to partner with SEK-CAP again this year and provide two shuttles on campus. We really think this will help further meet the needs of our students, faculty and staff.”
The Gorilla Shuttle runs weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For a full list of stops and a route map, visit pittstate.edu/shuttle.
