Clubs court students at Activities Fair Wednesday

One of the most common pieces of advice senior students give new freshmen at Pittsburg State University is to get involved. The hardest decision for this year’s students may not be whether to get involved, but which group or groups to join.

The number and variety of organizations available to students will be on display at PSU’s Campus Activities Fair, which runs from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, on the PSU Oval. (If there is rain, the event will move to the Crimson and Gold Ballroom in the Overman Student Center.)

Mary Mercer, program coordinator for campus activities, said there are about 160 organizations registered on campus, so students should have no problem finding a group that matches their own interests.

More than 50 of those are planning to set up booths at Wednesday’s fair. The groups represented include everything from the PSU Swing Dance Society, the Anime Club and the Horror Club to Students for Sustainability, Gorilla Lacrosse and the Chinese Culture Club.
