PSU hosts KACE summer workshop

PSU’s Office of Career Services hosted the annual summer drive-in workshop for the Kansas Association of Colleges and Employers (KACE) on Wednesday, July 13, in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

The event brought university career services personnel and employers together for sessions aligned with the theme, “Build Your Brand.”

Local business leaders including Harvey Dean, founder and CEO of Pitsco, Inc.; Joe Dellasega, an executive business coach and consultant with the Dellasega Group; Brandee Johnson, owner, LimeLight Marketing; and Richard Miller, CEO of Miller’s Professional Imaging, presented at the conference.

In addition, Blake Benson, president of the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and economic development director for the City of Pittsburg, along with Shawn Naccarato, PSU's director of government and community relations, talked about small-town-and-gown branding and Kendall Gammon, special assistant to the president and former NFL Pro Bowler gave a motivational speech.

Mindy Cloninger, director of career services, said the goals for the workshop included sharing ideas on how to help students build their brand and to talk about what employers look for in a student brand.

David Hogard, assistant director of career services for employer relations, serves as president of the KACE.
