Kansas City Chiefs fans will be hearing a lot more from Kendall Gammon this fall. A former long snapper who spent 15 years in the NFL, Gammon will serve as color analyst for the Chiefs Radio Network during away games for the upcoming season.
The Chiefs announced Gammon’s new responsibilities in conjunction with the announcement last week that former quarterback Len Dawson has decided to call only home games, beginning this fall. Dawson has served as color analyst for the Chiefs Radio Network for 31 years.
Gammon will take Dawson’s place in the booth on away games alongside Mitch Holthus, the “voice of the Chiefs.” For the past nine years, Gammon has reported from the sidelines for the radio network.
Gammon earned his B.S. in education from PSU and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1992 as a long snapper. He spent 15 years in the NFL before retiring in 2006 from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gammon returned to PSU in 2008 when he was named development director for intercollegiate athletics. In 2015, he was named special assistant to the president.
