Death leaves PSU shocked and saddened

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott issued the
following statement upon learning of the death of retired PSU
employee, Larry Weaver. According to media reports, the body of
Weaver, who had been reported missing from Sikeston, Mo., on
Tuesday, June 28, was discovered this morning in a cotton field
near that city.
“We are shocked and saddened by this news,” said Scott. “Our hearts
go out to Larry’s wife, Regina, and their family. I ask our campus
to keep them in their thoughts and prayers and offer my deepest
condolences.”
According to media reports, authorities have arrested two suspects
in connection with Weaver’s death and are searching for at least
one other suspect at this time.
Weaver, 66, recently retired from Pittsburg State University after
working 20 years as a programmer in the Office of Information
Systems.
"We had been holding out hope for Larry ever since he was first reported missing," said Angela Neria, PSU's Chief Information Officer. "It's devastating to know that someone so full of life and love for his community is gone. He will be missed by all of us."
