Representatives of some of the top automotive technology education programs in the country are at Pittsburg State University this week to learn from each other. PSU’s Department of Automotive Technology is hosting the annual meeting of the National Association of Automotive Universities (NAAU) through Wednesday morning.
In addition to PSU, the universities represented include Colorado State University-Pueblo, Ferris State University, Southern Illinois University, Weber State University, the University of Central Missouri and Brigham Young University of Idaho.
In addition to discussing things like accreditation for four-year automotive programs, the benefits of ASE certification and the process of turning faculty-developed course materials into textbooks, the educators will spend time talking to each other about the challenges and opportunities they have in common.
