PSU mourns student death

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott issued the following statement upon learning of the death of PSU Student Ashly Erickson, a 23-year-old native of Wamego, Kansas, who died unexpectedly Thursday evening.  

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Ashly’s family and friends,” said Scott. “There are few things in life more difficult than losing a loved one, especially someone so young and full of life. I extend my deepest sympathies and offer condolences on behalf of the entire Pittsburg State University community.”

Erickson was in her senior year and majoring in Management and Marketing. She was scheduled to graduate at Saturday’s Commencement Ceremony for the Kelce College of Business. A special moment of silence will be held in Ashly’s honor during this ceremony.
