Classes for the first of two summer sessions begin on Monday, June 6, but university officials say there’s still time to enroll.
“Offering two, four-week sessions during the summer makes it easier for many people who would like to take a class or classes, but can’t commit their whole summer to school,” said Debbie Greve, registrar at PSU.
The first summer session runs from June 6 through July 1. The second summer session runs from July 5 through July 29.
Greve said students enroll in summer classes for a variety of reasons.
“Some students use the summer session to take a class that doesn’t fit into their full fall and spring schedules,” Greve said. “For others, taking a few summer classes can help a student finish his or her degree earlier.”
Greve added that some students just like the structure of summer study.
In addition to the regular summer classes, Pitt State also offers a number of online classes during the summer, as well as short courses and workshops. For a complete listing of summer offerings, visit the registrar’s home page, www.pittstate.edu/registrar and select the summer term under the schedule of classes link.
