Students of Pittsburg State University’s Student Publications Department won an unprecedented three All-Kansas awards at the annual spring conference of the Kansas Collegiate Media in Wichita.
The All-Kansas is the top overall award given to print and digital publications. Student Publications won all three of the All-Kansas awards for its student newspaper, The Collegio; its yearbook, the 2015 Kanza; and its online site, psucollegio.com. The Collegio editor is Audrey Dighans, a senior from Baldwin City; this year’s yearbook editor is Amanda Reno, senior from Stilwell; and webmaster for the online site is Aaron Troglia, senior from Frontenac. Editor in chief of the 2015 Kanza was Jessica Sewing, Joplin, Mo., senior in elementary education.
This is the sixth year in a row that the yearbook has won the association’s top prize.
In addition, the Student Publications staff picked up more than 30 individual awards in various journalism categories.
Eleven members of the publications staff attended the conference on Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8, accompanied by their adviser, Gerard Attoun.
