Symphonic Band, Jazz II band perform Tuesday

The PSU Symphonic Band and the Jazz II band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

The Symphonic band is comprised primarily of non-music majors and music majors who are playing secondary instruments. The repertoire for the show includes well the well known "Fanfare for the Common man," by Aaron Copeland; the "Light Cavalry Overture," by Franz Von Suppe, and modern band works.

Performing with the Symphonic Band is the Jazz Lab band, which is also made up of non-music majors and majors playing secondary instruments. They will play arrangements of many familiar jazz standards.
