PSU hosts leadership workshop for language teachers

Pittsburg State University will host the Four-State Area Leadership Initiative for Language Learning (FSA LILL) Mini-Institute from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, in Room 115 of Axe Library.

The workshop, patterned after the national inaugural Leadership Initiative for Language Learning held in 2015, is designed to inspire world language teachers and future teachers to become leaders.

Organizers said they have six objectives for Saturday’s event. Those include examining strategies that will make participants more effective leaders in their spheres of influence; analyzing the participants’ leadership styles and preferences; researching strategies that lead to strategic change; creating a culture of collaboration, collegiality, and life-long learning; setting goals specific to the participants’ spheres of influence that will positively impact student proficiency and performance; and designing action steps to develop the participants’ leadership capacity.
