Group plans Chinese New Year celebration

The Chinese Culture Club at Pittsburg State University will host a Chinese New Year Gala at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, in 102 Yates Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The students will share information about the traditional Chinese lunar celebration, lead Chinese games and offer Chinese cultural performances. In addition, there will be snacks, drinks and Chinese gifts for the attendees.
Organizers said that 2016 is the year of the monkey, which is the ninth Chinese zodiac sign and is a symbol of intelligence, curiosity and confidence.
