Time is quickly running out to make reservations for “Fairest Isle,” the Pittsburg State University Choir’s spring fundraising dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, in the Overman Student Center. Director Susan Marchant said this week that the last day to turn in reservations will be Thursday, Feb. 11.
“Fairest Isle” will be a celebration of the musical traditions of England and Wales. The theme for the evening was chosen because it aligns with the choir’s upcoming tour of England and Wales.
Marchant said the choir will perform a variety of pieces designed to highlight the diverse musical traditions of the regions.
“From jaunty madrigals to elegant motets, from hauntingly beautiful ballads and folksongs, to the well-known tunes of today's popular musicians, the evening will provide something for everyone's musical tastes,” Marchant said.
Tickets for the dinner and performance are $30. For more information or to make reservations, call Marchant at 620-235-4467.
