Bison topic of Audubon program

Kathy Holmer, the natural resource steward from Prairie State Park, will present a program on the American Bison at the Sperry-Galligar Audubon meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, in 102 Yates Hall at Pittsburg State University.

The plains bison were once a one-stop resource for Native Americans, providing food, clothing, tools from bones and much more. Holmer will have bison artifacts and talk about the bison herd at Prairie State Park near Mindenmines, Mo.

This is a free, hands-on program and children are welcome.
