Bicknell Center hosts pianist Matthew Mayer

Award-winning pianist and composer Matthew Mayer will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Bicknell Family for the Arts at Pittsburg State University.
Mayer has released nine solo albums and has collaborated on scores of musical projects including movies, commercials, and radio. His song “Beyond” was a Top 10 instrumental selection by the International Acoustic Music Awards and was recognized by Spain’s Reviews New Age as one of the Top 50 Piano Songs written of all time.
Mayer’s composition of “No Regrets” was also featured in the motion picture “Earthwork,” directed by Chris Ordal, and starring Academy Award Nominee John Hawdes.
In 2012, Mayer received a Telly Award for his piano contributions on the commercial “Born and Raised in Omaha” and also received a Gabriel Award for his collaborations with the popular Austin, Texas, Radio Station “Mary’s Touch.”
In addition to composing and performing, Mayer has spent years promoting solo piano artists and their music. He is the owner of the website Solopiano.com, which gives solo piano artists the ability to build their own web pages and features artists daily. He is also the owner of a streaming radio station.
