ACI honors School of Construction

Pittsburg State University is one of just 15 universities nationwide to be named a 2016 Outstanding University by the American Concrete Institute. The award recognizes the PSU School of Construction’s active involvement with ACI, including its participation in various student-related ACI activities.

Representatives from PSU’s School of Construction will formally accept the award at ACI’s Spring 2016 Concrete Convention and Exposition Opening Session and Awards Program, which takes place in April in Milwaukee, Wis.

“We are proud to receive this award from ACI,” said Assistant Professor Seth O’Brien. “To be recognized by an esteemed organization such as ACI is a tremendous honor for the School of Construction, College of Technology and for the university.”

More than 20 students in PSU’s School of Construction are ACI members. The SOC was also recognized for its attendance at the 2015 ACI Spring Convention and at various chapter meetings, and for its participation in various non-ACI, concrete-related events.

Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Mich., ACI has more than 101 chapters, 93 student chapters and nearly 20,000 members spanning more than 120 countries.
