The Kansas City Royals’ World Series trophy is coming to Pittsburg. The trophy will be at the Robert W. Plaster Center on the Pittsburg State University campus from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The Pittsburg stop is part of a tour that takes the trophy through Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa and is sponsored by the Kansas and Missouri Lottery as well as Academy Sports, Pepsi and Planet Fitness.
Fans may view the trophy and have either individual or group photos taken with the trophy. Or, they may choose to have a professional photo taken and can purchase those photos onsite and online at royals.com. A portion of all onsite professional photos purchases benefit Royals Charities.
The trophy will be accompanied by KayCee, the Kansas City baseball character who hangs the iconic “W” on the Royals Hall of Fame after each Royals home win at Kauffman Stadium.
Each stop on the trophy tour lasts just two hours and fans are admitted on a first-come-first-served basis.
