Cloninger, Hogard receive state recognition

Mindy Cloninger David Hogard awardMindy Cloninger, director of Pittsburg State University’s Office of Career Services, and David Hogard, assistant director for employer relations, were both honored at the 2015 Kansas Association of Colleges and Employers (KACE) conference, held Dec. 2-4 in Overland Park, Kan.

Cloninger received the Larry Hannah Career Services Director Award, which is given annually by KACE to a career services director who has made an outstanding contribution to KACE over the past year. The award honors the late Larry Hannah, who served as placement director at Emporia State University for more than 15 years. Hannah died in 2002.

“I’m really honored to receive this award,” Cloninger said. “It means a lot to me because I knew Larry Hannah.”

Meanwhile, Hogard was elected president of KACE for the coming year. As vice-president of the organization, he planned the 2015 conference.

“David has provided excellent leadership to KACE,” Cloninger said. “He is very highly respected among his peers all across the state.”

Cloninger said the recognition Pittsburg State received is a reflection of the hard work the entire Career Services staff does throughout the year.

“Any honors we as individuals receive really reflect the work of the entire Career Services staff,” Cloninger said. “We have a dynamic team and they do great things for our students, the university and the employers who recruit our students.”
