Charlotte Web plays to packed houses

“Charlotte’s Web,” one of the most endearing and enduring children’s tales ever written, wound its way into the hearts of audiences in the Bicknell Center’s Miller Theater this past month. The PSU Theatre production played to enthusiastic sell-out crowds through five performances.

Megan Westhoff, who directed the production, said the play, which was written by Joseph Robinette, is a faithful adaptation of E.B. White’s treasured novel.

Audiences were treated to fanciful and flexible sets created by Linden Little, who did scene and lighting design, and creative costuming and makeup by Lisa Quinteros, who brought the play’s large cast of animal and human characters to life. Mary Lou Farmer did hair design for the production and Leo Hudson was in charge of multimedia design.

Westhoff said the show’s success was the result of teamwork involving more than 20 actors and large numbers of people working behind the scenes.
