Chamber Orchestra Kremlin to perform at PSU Oct. 16

The Pittsburg State University 2015-16 Solo and Chamber Music Series continues on Friday, Oct. 16, with a performance by the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin. The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall in McCray Hall.

The Chamber Orchestra Kremlin is under the direction of maestro Misha Rachlevsky. Since the ensemble was founded in 1991, it has performed more than 1,400 concerts in more than 24 countries. The orchestra has recorded more than 30 CDs and has about 900 compositions in its repertoire. Chamber Orchestra Kremlin last performed in Pittsburg in 2010.

For its Pittsburg concert, the orchestra will perform Gioacchino Rossini’s Sonata in C. major, No. 3; Sergei Prokofiev’s “Visions Fugitives,” Op. 22; and Antonin Dvorak’s “Serenade for Strings,” Op. 22.

Tickets for the concert are $12 for the general public and $8 for persons over 65 or under 18. Full-time PSU students are admitted without charge. Tickets are available in advance at the PSU Ticket Office, 1701 S. Homer, 620-235-4796, or at the door the evening of the performance.

McCray Hall is located at 205 E. Lindburg, on the Pittsburg State University campus.
