PSU Family Day game sold out

Pittsburg State will host the Washburn Ichabods Saturday at Carnie Smith Stadium and all indications are that the Gorillas will play in front of a packed house.

“We’re calling tomorrow’s game officially sold out,” said Jim Johnson, director of intercollegiate athletics. “We’ve distributed nearly 1,000 Standing Room Only (SRO) tickets to the general public at this point. When you add in the number of student tickets and tickets for players’ families we’re expecting well over 11,000 fans.”

As a result, general public ticket sales will close at 4 p.m. today. No tickets will be available to the general public on Saturday. Stadium ticket booths will open on Saturday at 5 p.m. but services will be limited to distributing student SRO tickets. The Will Call window will be open for those who have already purchased a ticket and for players’ families.

“Only a handful of universities in the nation are fortunate enough to have this type of fan support,” said Johnson. “Our goal is provide everyone with a game day experience that is safe, fun and family friendly.”

Pittsburg State’s ticket office is located in the Weede Physical Education Building. The office will remain open until 4 p.m. Friday.
