PSU goes blue for Autism Awareness Day

What do the Empire State Building, London’s Trafalgar Square and Pittsburg State University’s Bicknell Family Center for the Arts have in common? They’re all going to be blue tomorrow, April 2, in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day.

Joe Firman, director of the Bicknell Center, said PSU President Steve Scott brought the date to his attention and he was eager to add the new Bicknell Center to the list of iconic building around the world participating in the event.

“We have the ability to light the Bicknell Center with colored lights, which adds to the natural beauty of the building,” Firman said. “Hopefully, when people see the blue lights on April 2, it will help build awareness of autism and the struggle that families affected by autism face every day.”
