Award-winning poet to speak at PSU

Award winning poet Sally Keith will read from her works at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, in the Governor’s Room of Pittsburg State University’s Overman Student Center. Keith’s visit to PSU is part of the English Department’s Visiting Writers Series and is supported by the Student Fee Council and the Women’s Studies Council. It is free and open to the public.

Keith is the author of three collections of poetry: “Dwelling Song;” “Design,” which was selected by Allen Grossman for the 2000 Colorado Prize for Poetry; and most recently, “The Fact of The Matter.”

She has also published individual poems in numerous journals and anthologies, including Colorado Review, Conjunctions, New American Writing, and A Public Space. Keith has been awarded fellowships to the BreadLoaf Writers' Conference and is a recipient of a Pushcart Prize, and the Denver Quarterly's Lynda Hull Award.

Keith graduated from the Iowa Writers Workshop in 2000 and holds a B.A. from Bucknell. Keith teaches at George Mason University and lives in Washington, D.C.
