International Gathering features Paraguay

The South American nation of Paraguay will take center stage at Pittsburg State University as the spring semester series of International Gatherings gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, in the lower level of Grubbs Hall on the PSU campus.

The international gatherings are sponsored by the PSU Office of International Programs and Services, the International Student Association and community volunteers and are designed to offer members of the campus community and the public regular opportunities to learn about cultures and countries around the world.

The events feature cultural and historical presentations and traditional foods from the home countries of PSU international students.

International Programming Coordinator Stephanie Gonzalez said the international gatherings have become one of the most popular international-focused events on campus and are drawing growing crowds of students, faculty and community members.

Gonzalez said the gatherings are an opportunity to learn about other countries and also to meet the students who come from those countries.
