Tango benefits Symphony

Participants will be invited to learn to tango at a Valentines Day fundraising dinner concert for the Southeast Kansas Symphony. The Pittsburg State University Strings will be joined by Cuarteto Tanguero, a tango group from Bloomington, Ind.; the Midwest Regional Ballet Co.; and tenor José Ortega on Saturday, Feb. 14, in the lobby of the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts in Pittsburg.

The evening begins with an authentic Argentine steak dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert. The night will end with the audience dancing to the last tango of the evening.

The event is under the direction of Raúl A. Munguía, assistant professor of violin and viola and director of orchestras at PSU. Munguía said seating is limited and tickets, which are $30, are already going quickly.

Tickets may be purchased at the PSU Ticket Office, 620-235-4796, www.pittstate.edu/tickets, 1701 S. Homer.
