Nellys Echo performs Tuesday, Feb. 3

Nelly’s Echo, formed by lead singer Nelson Emokpae in 2007, will perform at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts on the Pittsburg State University campus. The performance, sponsored by the Student Activities Council, is free.

One of the contestants on season 3 of NBC’s “The Voice,” Emokpae is originally from Nigeria. Emokpae says he draws on his background and experiences to tell his story in music. His style has been described as a blend of soul, reggae and blues.

Nelly’s Echo has self-released three albums and numerous singles and performs at colleges and universities across the U.S.
