Group plans stalking awareness program

In honor of National Stalking Awareness Month, Pittsburg State University’s Students For Violence Prevention will hold a roundtable discussion at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, in Room 107 of Grubbs Hall on the PSU campus. The event is entitled “P.S. I Love You: Stalking Awareness Evening.”
The program for the evening includes Sarah Bahr, a stalking survivor, who will share her personal story of a dangerous relationship turned stalking. She will share information about the types of stalking she endured and the steps she took to prosecute the offender.
The evening will also include a round-table discussion at which attendees may pose questions or text them to the panel anonymously. The panel will include Brooke Powell, PSU campus victims advocate; Vicky Polen, Safehouse Victims Advocate; Steven Mayhew, director of University Counseling Services; Mike McCracken, director of University Police; and Jason Kegler, director of student rights and responsibilities.
