Gorillas, Hornets ready for nationally-ranked contest

A top-five national match-up comes to John Lance Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 14, as the No. 2 Gorillas meet up with No. 3 Emporia State at 5:30 p.m.

Pitt State is 15-1 on the season, while the Lady Hornets are 13-1.

While Emporia State leads in the all-time series with the Gorillas, Pitt State has won eight of the last 10 meetings, including and 81-75 win in Pittsburg in the last regular season game of the 2013-14 season.

Wednesday night will also be the first theme night of the year for the Gorilla Student Section, as it will be Superheroes and Villains Night.

Tickets are $13 for reserved seats, $10 for adult general admission, $6 for children and senior citizens and free for all PSU students, faculty and staff.

The Pittsburg State ticket office opens at 4:30 p.m., one hour prior to tip.
