PSU hosts second career fair for students

American employers added more than 230,000 jobs in October, according to a report released by the payroll company ADP. That good economic news was reflected Thursday in the number of employers who participated in Pittsburg State University’s second Career Day of the semester.

Mindy Cloninger, director of the Office of Career Services, said more than 60 firms participated in the November Career Fair. More than 50 participated in a similar event in October. Cloninger said she decided to break the fall career day into two sessions because the available space just wasn’t big enough to meet demand.

Cloninger said companies were looking for everything from full-time employees and seasonal temporary help to interns.

“This is a much better environment for students than that of a few years ago,”
