PSU hosts performance poet Thursday

Pittsburg State University’s Department of English will host a free presentation by performance poet Carrie Rudzinski at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, in Room 103, Whitesitt Hall.
Named “Best Female Poet” at her first national poetry
competition in 2008, Carrie Rudzinski is a poet, artist, and
filmmaker. She has performed her work across the U.S., New Zealand,
Australia, Canada and India.
Rudzinski was ranked fourth in the world at the 2014 Women of The
World Poetry Slam and seventh in the world at the 2013 Individual
World Poetry Slam.
Rudzinski’s work has been published in numerous collections and she has released three poetry books: “A History Of Silence,” “The Endless Return Home,” and “The Shotgun Speaks,” as well as an ebook version of “A History of Silence” on Amazon Kindle.
Her two CDs, “Barefoot Whale Riders,” and “Live at The Boston Poetry Slam,” are available on iTunes.
Rudzinski’s performance is sponsored by the PSU Distinguished Visiting Writers Series, the Student Fee Council, Sigma Tau Delta, Campus Activities and the Student Government Association.
