Professor, former student talk about suicide awareness, prevention

A Pittsburg State University professor and a recent PSU graduate will present a free public program on suicide awareness and prevention at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in 409 Russ Hall.
Connie Rush, a professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling, and Carol Meza, a 2014 graduate who majored in social work, will lead the discussion.
Rush will talk about suicide awareness and prevention, statistics, facts and warning signs. Meza, an Iraq War veteran, will talk about PTSD, her personal experiences and training. Meza is currently in the Advanced Standing Clinical Masters program of Social Work at KU.
