Pittsburg State University students got to see the wide range of interests and activities available to them at the annual Student Activities Fair, held Wednesday, on the Oval.
Hundreds of students wove their way through the scores of tables and displays, each touting the benefits of a particular club or organization.
At the Rock Climbing Club table, students looked over the various pieces of equipment used by rock climbers and learned about the club’s rock climbing expeditions. A little farther down, a display of popular horror DVDs attracted students to the PSU Horror Club table.
The most popular tables offered students free food or gifts. Students who could explain what the phrase, “Do the Gorilla thing,” meant (It means do the right thing), got a free lanyard. That turned out to be everyone.
The Office of Student Diversity had large groups line up for free hamburgers, as did the SAC for its free smoothies.
Organizers said that in addition to the many organizations represented at the Activities Fair, many more exist and new groups are formed almost every year. For more information, contact Campus Activities at 620-235-4795.
