Two speakers will talk about race and restorative justice in a presentation at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 107 Grubbs Hall, on the Pittsburg State University campus.
Unitarian Universalist minister Thea Nietfield and Missouri Western State University professor Joanne Katz will give a presentation on “Restoring community with fairness and empathy.”
Restorative justice is generally described as an approach to dealing with crime that focuses on the victim and the offender’s obligations to the victim rather than seeing crime as an act against the law or the state.
This free workshop is sponsored by the PSU Tilford Group and the Office of Student Diversity.
