Concert is a tribute to America

The PSU Wind Ensemble will present a free concert, “America: A Tribute to our Great Nation,” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, in Pittsburg’s Memorial Auditorium. The ensemble is under the direction of Craig Fuchs.

The concert will feature various selections of band music that pertain to the history of the U.S. and significant events that have shaped the nation over the past two centuries.  Brad Hodson, vice president of university advancement, will serve as narrator for the program.

The concert will feature the Pittsburg Multi-Generational Choir and members of the PHS Encore, both led by Susan Laushman, in a performance of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

All veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are invited to the program to be recognized during a performance of “The Armed Forces Salute.”
