Think of it like going to a drive-in movie without the car.
On Friday, Aug. 29, the Pittsburg State University Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations will host a free family movie on the Jungletron in Carnie Smith Stadium.
The movie, which begins at 7 p.m., will be Disney’s “Maleficent,” according to Meagan Swafford, assistant director.
“It’s free and open to everyone,” Swafford said. “It’s great fun and we always have a wonderful crowd. There’s nothing like watching a movie on a screen that measures 70 by 40 feet!”
Swafford said the free movie is one way the Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations shows its appreciation for the community and the many ways it supports PSU and its students.
The gates to the stadium will open at 6:30 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase. No outside food or drink will be allowed in the stadium and no food or drink will be allowed on the track or the field. Moviegoers may bring blankets for the field or may sit in the west side stands. No chairs or strollers will be allowed on the field. Coolers and/or alcohol are prohibited as are bicycles, skateboards, balls, Frisbees, etc. Adult supervision is required for all children.
