A few lucky students will soon have an opportunity to enjoy some of the most exciting nightlife in southeast Kansas. Delia Lister, Nature Reach Program Coordinator, said a few spots still remain for the Pittsburg State University Nature Reach Summer Overnight Camp, Aug. 2-3.
The camp, open to students who have completed 4th or 5th grade, takes place at the PSU Natural History Reserve, 1053 S. 180th.
Lister said the students will learn camping etiquette and safety, go on an owl prowl, eat “campfire food” (weather permitting), and participate in several hands-on activities. Dinner and a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning will be provided.
Campers should bring a sleeping bag, personal toiletries, towels, clothes, a flashlight, camp chairs, bug spray and a tent. Each camper should be accompanied by an adult. The fee is $60, which covers both the camper and the adult.
