PSU hosts fishing derby for kids

The Pittsburg State University Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations is kicking off the spring season with a Kids’ Fishing Derby from 8:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the University Lake.
Check-in and fishing begins at 8:30 and derby prizes will be awarded at 11. There will be first, second and third place awards for the longest fish caught and a prize for the most fish caught. Each registered fisher will also receive a gift and snacks and water will be provided.
Participants need to bring their own fishing pole and bait and must register at the University Lake gazebo. The derby is catch and release and there must be one adult to supervise every two children.
